A powerful silylating agent.1,2 An effectively selective reagent for the debenzylation of dibenzyl arylphosphate esters to give the corresponding arylphosphate acids without affecting other functional groups and for P–O silyldealkylation of mixed carboxylate–phosphonate alkyl esters.3,4. A reagent well suited for peptide resin deprotection and cleavage.5 Also used for elaboration of aldehydes/ ketones into homologous alpha-beta-unsaturated esters via beta-hydroxy esters.6
