A chiral resolving reagent used in chiral separation so that both enantiomers can be efficiently separated and isolated in high chemical and optical purities. Has been used for synthesis of levomepromazine hydrogen maleate by resolving (±)-10-(3-dimethylamino-2-methylpropyl)-2-methoxyphenothiazine1, resolution of racemic trans-2-benzylaminocyclohexanol2, synthesis of (R)-3-(2-aminopropyl)-7-benzyloxyindole by resolution3 and synthesis of (±) -Tetrabenazine from the resolution of α-dihydrotetrabenazine4.
