A novel "nonstabilized" α-aminocarbanion synthons.1 Applied in the synthesis of N-phthalimido-α,α-difluoro-β-alanine,2 for preparation of novel 4-(trimethylsilyl)amino-alkanes and 4-(trimethylsilyl)aminoalk-2-enes via a 1,5-hydride shift in the reaction of α-unsaturated silanes,3 for a novel Mannich-type reaction with silyl enolates in the presence of a catalytic amount of lanthanide triflate to give the corresponding β-amino ketone or ester derivatives,4 for preparation of 1-(N,N-dialkylamino)alkyltributylstannanes,5 and for additions to N-vinylamines and N-vinylamides to afford unsymmetrically substituted 1,3-Diamines.6
