A catalyst for C-C bond and C-N formation such as Heck coupling of alkynes with alkenes, and Suzuki cross-coupling of aryl bromides.1 Applied as a catalyst in Suzuki reactions of aryl chlorides with phenylboronic acid in the presence of 1,4-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylbenzyl)piperazine,2 arylation of vinylsiloxanes via Heck coupling reaction,3 allylic substitution of oximes with allylic acetate,4 synthesis of 5,5''-dibromo-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine and 5,5'-dibromo-2,2'-bipyridine via coupling of dihalogenopyridines with 5-bromo-2-trialkylstannylpyridines,5 synthesis of benzo[b]thiophenes from thioenols,6 and methoxycarbonylation of iodobenzene.7 Also used as a precursor to prepare novel palladium complexes with different ligands.8,9
