A catalyst in organic synthesis. Employed in the decarboxylative cross-coupling of arylcarboxylic acids with aryl halides,1 Sonogashira coupling reaction of aryl bromides with a variety of terminal alkynes,2 reductive carbonylation of aryl and heteroaryl iodides,3 head-to-tail dimerization of vinylarenes,4 catalytic cycloaddition of diazoalkanes generated in situ to fullerene C60,5 1,1-difunctionalization of activated alkenes,6 and Silaboration of 1,3-enynes.7 Also used for synthesis of bimetallic PdPt nanoparticles,8and synthesis of Highly monodisperse spherical 3 nm Pd-Cu alloy nanoparticles.9
