A thionation reagent for ketones, esters, and amides that allows the preparation of thioketones, thioesters and thioamides in good yields.1,2 Also used to thionate enones, lactones, lactams, and quinones.3,4 Applied in synthesis of 2,5-disubstituted 1,3-azoles,5 efficient access to benzoxazoles and benzothiazoles from carboxylic acids,6 preparation of new oxa[9]helicenes by reacting with helical quinines,7 reaction with ester hydrazones to afford a variety of new 3-thioxo-1,2,3-diaza- phospholine derivatives,8 and synthesis of 3,1-benzothiazines from 2-alkenyl- and 2-alkynylanilides.9
