A resolving agent mainly used for racemic amines.1 Applied to resolve racemic N-methylamphetamine,2 resolve zopiclone to give eszopiclone that is an anti-insomnia agent,3 to resolve 7-Alkoxy-4-aryl-tetrahydroisoquinoline to provide the enantiomerically pure material as a dual serotonin reuptake inhibitor/histamine H3 antagonist,4 to resolve (3S)-4-benzyl-3-(4-fluorophenyl)morpholin-2-one,5 to resolve diastereomeric salt formation of α-phenylethylamine,6 and to resolve trans-tramadol.7 Also used as a supramolecular complex (SMC) forming resolving agent with three racemic alcohols (menthol, 4-methyl-2-pentanol, trans-2-iodo-cyclohexanol.8
