A reagent used to immobilize proteins, fragment proteins by cleaving peptide bonds, and synthesize cyanamides and other molecules.1,2,3 Applied in the synthesis of mono- and dialkylcyanamides from primary and secondary amines,4 synthesis of guanidines and hydroxyguanidines,5 preparation of aryl nitriles,6 synthesis of α,β-alkynic nitriles,7 preparation of phenyl cyanate and 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene dicyanate from phenol and 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene respectively.8,9
