A chloroformate ester. Reagent for introducing Fmoc group. For preparing N-Fmoc amino acids in solid-phase peptide synthesis by reaction with the amine.1,2 Also used to synthesis of Fmoc-Osu by  the reaction with the dicyclohexylammonium salt of N-hydroxysuccinimide.3 Reagent for derivatizing amino acids for HPLC amino acid analysis4,5 and for for the pre-column fluorescent derivatization of amino acids.6,7
