A coupling reagent that proceeds via in situ conversion to an acid fluoride.1,2 A benign substitute for the corrosive cyanuric fluoride which suitable for the preparation of acyl fluorides even when unsaturated double bonds, hydroxyl groups, or aromatic rings are present.3,4 A convenient reagent for the preparation of isothiocyanates from the corresponding primary amines in the presence of carbon disulfide.5 A useful reagent for the conversion of carboxylic acids into esters, thioesters, anilides, hydrazides, acyl azides, the corresponding alcohols and hydroxamic acids.6,7,8
