A reagent that can react with electrophilic carbon atoms to form methyl sulfones in a single step.1 Applied in stereoselective synthesis of (E)-alkenyl sulfones from alkenes or alkynes,2 preparation of branched allylic sulfones by iridium-catalyzed allylation,3 reaction with α-halo ketones under microwave irradiation to  afford the corresponding β-keto sulfones,4 introduction of a sulfone group to pyridines and diazines,5 synthesis of β-hydroxy-sulfones via opening of epoxides in ionic liquid,6 preparation of aryl and alkenylsulfones from the cross-coupling reaction with organoboronic acids,7 and synthesis of vinyl sulfones.8 Starting material for synthesis of aryl sulfoxides and sulfonium salts in trifluoromethanesulfonic acid as a novel sulfurizing agent.9 Catalyst used in preparation of heteroarenecarbonitriles,10 and in synthesis of 2-aroylquinoxalines, 1-aroylphthalazines, and 4-aroylcinnolines.11
