A popular odorless reducing agent for biochemistry and molecular biology applications with the advantages of being odorless, a more powerful reducing agent, an irreversible reducing agent, more hydrophilic, and more resistant to oxidation in air.1 Commonly used to break disulfide bonds within and between proteins.2,3 particularly useful when labeling cysteine residues with maleimides.4
