New uronium-based coupling reagent for peptide synthesis suitable for critical cases, which give high yields with minimal racemisation, simple reaction conditions and short reaction time.1,2 Applied as reactant for Watson-Crick pairing of oligonucleotides to give β-D-Xylopyranosyl-(4'→2')-oligonucleotides containing adenine and thymine as nucleobases,3 and esterification of nucleosides to solid phase supports.4 Also as a reagent for the synthesis of selective integrin avβ3 antagonists,5 design and synthesis of double stranded DNA libraries,6 preparation of conformationally contrained β-amino acid derivatives,7 synthesis and application of methyleneoxy pseudopeptide building blocks,8 preparation of tritiated oostatic peptides for study of radioactivity incorporation in flesh fly Neobellieria bullata.9
